To love is to risk not being loved in return. To live is to risk dying. To hope is to risk despairing. To try is to risk failing.
But one must take risks, for the greatest danger in life is to risk nothing at all. He who risks nothing does nothing, has nothing, is nothing.
He can avoid suffering, but he learns nothing, feels nothing, can neither change nor grow, can neither love nor live. Chained by his certainty, he becomes bald, he betrays his freedom.
