Hello everyone,
Browsing through websites, I found this lovely text by Khalil Gibran,
For all those who believe in love..
Have a good day
LOVE
Then Almitra said, Tell us of Love.
And he lifted his head and looked upon the assembled people, and a calm settled over them. And in a loud voice he said:
When love beckons you, follow it.
Although its paths are harsh and rugged.
And when its wings envelop you, yield to it.
Even though the card hidden among its feathers could hurt you.
And when he speaks to you, believe in him.
Although her voice may shatter your dreams as the north wind ravages your gardens.
For just as love crowns you, it must also crucify you.
Just as it makes you grow, it prunes you.
Just as it rises to your height and caresses your most delicate branches, which tremble in the sun,
Thus he will descend to your roots and shake their hold on the earth.
Like sheaves of wheat, he gathers you into himself.
He beats you to strip you bare.
It is to chafe you free of your shell.
It crushes you until you turn white.
It kneads you until you become pliable.
And then he exposes you to his sacred fire, so that you may become the sacred bread of God's sacred feast.
All these things, love will accomplish in you so that you may know the secrets of your heart, and through this knowledge become a fragment of the heart of Life.
But yes, in your apprehension, you seek only the peace of love and the pleasure of love.
So it is better to cover your nudity and leave the field where love reaps you,
For the world without seasons where you will laugh, but not all of your laughter, and you will weep, but not all of your tears.
Love gives only of itself and takes only from itself.
Love does not possess, nor does it wish to be possessed.
For love is enough for love.
When you love, you should not say, “God is in my heart,” but rather, “I am in the heart of God.”
And do not think that you can bend the course of love, for love, if it deems you worthy, directs your course.
Love has no desire but to fulfill itself.
But if you love and your needs must have desires, let them be thus:
To melt and flow like the brook that sings its melody to the night.
To know the pain of too much tenderness.
To be wounded by your own understanding of love;
And to bleed willingly and joyfully.
Waking at dawn with a heart ready to take flight and giving thanks for a new day of love;
Resting in the middle of the day and meditating on the ecstasy of love;
Return to your home at dusk with gratitude;
And then fall asleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise on your lips.
