Good evening, everyone,
taken from a text by a writer I love, Jean Tardieu:
One must be wary of words; they are always too beautiful, too dazzling, and their rhythm carries you along, ready to make you mistake a whisper for a thought.
One must constantly pull on the reins, lest these fiery coursers run away.
I have long searched for the words, the simplest, the most worn, even the most flat, but it is not yet that; it is their precise arrangement that matters.
Anyone who knew the secret of everyday words would have unlimited power… and they would be frightening…
I’ve pulled this text from an old AZ thread, which might allow new members to discuss it.
