Hello,
Through the Window of Love
God said:
Routine is good. Breaking routine is also good. Tenacity is good and flexibility is good. Everything is good.
Once you can see that everything is in order, you will have a broader perspective on life. Nothing should be one way and not another. You will rest.
What we are talking about is not judging. This concept of non-judgment is much praised but rarely applied.
When you step out of judgment, your mind is no longer so rigid. A whole burden will be lifted from your mind. You will shed years from your life. It will be like taking off tight shoes and letting out a sigh of relief. Then you will know freedom. Your mind will know freedom.
Someone reading this will think, or say: “God, are you saying we shouldn’t have standards? Are you saying we should let everything go?”
I would say, broadly, that you must find love in your heart and see the world through the window of love. I would advise you to be very cautious about having standards and expecting others to meet them. I also recommend caution when you impose standards that are too high on yourself. If you often find faults in yourself, you may well have set standards that are too high to live up to. Unless you have a light step, you are very likely being too hard on yourself.
My dears, you must not rush yourselves any more than you must rush others.
I would warn you against making absolute statements in your mind. There can be peace in everything. There can also be chaos in anything. The polished aspect is not always peaceful, nor is being dirty. If you must have one, let your standard be peace and let your standard be joy.
The only absolute I would want you to maintain is love. Love is the standard to uphold.
I have seen parents speak harshly to their children in public. Parents may believe they are teaching their child how to behave and that they are teaching in the name of love, and yet where is the love? It seems that they are teaching their child to be unhappy. They give themselves permission to be angry and authoritarian.
The world is not always constant; you must not perceive or present your opinions as constant either. Since when have opinions been facts? Since when has certainty been truth?
Be careful when saying that one thing is permissible and another is not. Be careful about what you preach, even when you preach what you practice. You may be asking for too high a price for yourself and for others.
Having a standard of love does not mean being sentimental. A foundation of love does not make you a fool. Do you think I am a fool? Do I not come from love? I do not come from a standard of love. I simply come from love, and that is what I ask of you.
And if you slip and come up short of love, ignore it and start over again. Love rules. Love, not severity or inconsistency. Wise love, not foolish love. True love, not false love. Graceful love. Love given with grace, not despite what is happening, but because you are love. You are not crazy for loving. You are not foolish. You are not irresponsible for loving. We are talking about honest love, true love that gives of itself because you, the one giving, are in love.
