A beautiful story to reflect on
When Angela was just a child, aged two or three,
His parents were already teaching him never to say NO.
They kept telling her that she must always
Obey your father and your mother.
Otherwise, she would be punished and have to go to bed.
All the same, the years went by
And Angela became an obedient girl;
She never gave in to anger and rebellion
She was always generous and considerate;
For no matter what his parents told him,
She always believed that they were right.
Angela was a gifted and charming student.
Her teachers found her well-mannered,
But they never asked themselves,
How she felt.
Angela had only friends
Who knew you could always count on her.
Even when ill and bedridden, if asked to help,
She answered “yes” without hesitation.
Married to a lawyer, Angela was now 33 years old,
A beautiful life in the suburbs and beautiful children.
If someone asked her how she was doing,
She always said: "Well, thank you."
But on a cold night, she lay awake in bed.
Dazed by a whirlwind of thoughts;

She no longer wanted to live.

No, I'm busy.
NO, that is not what I want.
Her family was astonished, her friends were left speechless,
But they could clearly see it in her eyes; Angela had changed.
For, on that cold and turbulent night,
Angela the angelic had been given permission to say no.
Since Angela is first and foremost a woman,
Then a mother and a wife:
She has her own life, talents, and ambitions.
She knows her needs, her desires, and her emotions.
She has her own bank account and
She finally has a say.
And to her son and daughter, she teaches:
It’s very good to be in agreement;
But to grow and fully realize oneself,
You have to know how to say no.
Because I know that I am sometimes wrong,
And since I love you deeply,
You will always be my angels,
Even when you say no to me.
