What is he doing in my dreams? * * * ok

Here, let me explain the context:
I met an English, seasonal bartender at a French ski resort. There was something like a love at first sight between us; we talked all night long, kissed at the end, and he came to sleep with me at the friend’s place where I was staying. He was tender, like in the early days of a relationship, and so on…
I went back to that ski resort for 2 weekends. Each time we would see each other, sleep together, etc. (he didn't attempt any sexual relationship, we were never alone)
We had promised each other the last time we saw each other to keep in touch once he got back to England.
Since then, I haven’t heard anything from him, even though I’ve already sent him two text messages and he has never replied. And last night was the fourth time I’ve dreamed about him.
The first time, I dreamed that he was actually speaking French, and that he had understood everything I had said with my friends in French. We were at that ski resort at the time.
The second time, he replied to my texts by writing “lost,” and when I asked why he had written that, he told me he was lost and didn’t know what to think about us.
The third time we met, we kissed, cuddled, and everything between us was tender.
Tonight, I dreamed of him again, and of the tender way he used to hold me in his arms, of feeling safe in his arms… yet I have no news from him, I don’t know what he thinks since he tells me nothing. This man is someone I appreciated a lot, and he has always been proper when we met, and I am sure he is a good person, despite his silence.
What should I make of seeing him in my dreams when, deep down, I’m trying to tell myself that I need to move on?
Dreams are vague, there aren’t many details, but I mainly want to know why I dream about him.
