Deep wisdom is acquired more through life's lessons than through words.
Words teach us through concepts, whereas life teaches us through direct experience. Admittedly, concepts provide us with a map, but it is experience that moves us forward along the path.
No experience is ever lost, for there is a lesson in each of them.
And these lessons are always positive, even if the experience is not.
