One day, a holy man was having a conversation with God..
He said to him: “Lord, I would like to know what heaven is like and what hell is like?”
God led the holy man to two doors.
He opened one of them, allowing the holy man to look inside.
In the middle of the room, there was a huge round table. And in the middle of the table, there was a large pot containing a stew with a delicious aroma.
The holy man drooled with envy.
The people seated around the table were thin and pale. They all looked hungry. They held spoons with very long handles attached to their arms. All of them could reach the dish of stew and fill a spoonful. But, because the spoon handle was longer than their arms, they could not bring the spoons to their mouths.
The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering.
God and he then made their way to the second door. God opened it, and the scene the holy man saw was identical to the previous one.
There was the great round table, the pot of delicious stew, which made the holy man drool again. The people around the table were also equipped with long-handled spoons.
But this time, the people were well-fed, full, smiling, and talking to each other with laughter.
The holy man says to God:
- I don't understand!
- "Well, it's simple," God replied to her request, "it's just a matter of skill. They have learned to feed one another, whereas the gluttonous and the selfish think only of themselves."
“Hell is often on earth!!!” …
