This is a comment on the article: THE DA VINCI CODE: AN ESOTERIC MANIPULATION?
Hello,
Just a small comment on The Da Vinci Code. I won’t go into the historical details, whether verified or not, but simply on the book I read. I’ve listened to many different opinions, for or against? dream or reality? etc. What I take away from it, for my part, is a great emptiness. This book did not convince me at all, in either direction, and I was hugely disappointed. I had the impression of reading a “pink” novel, with explanations that were far too simplistic, an empty plotline, and it was too romantic. A very flat story. A bit like the expression “too much said or not enough said.” If there is a hint of truth, it seemed very limited to me. And if we’re talking about fiction, I found it rather B-movie.
I was extremely disappointed, and it must show. I probably expected more revelations and a more “scientific,” “historical” turn of events. I had the impression of reading a “vulgar” Barbara Cartland-style story (which has its devotees, I admit, but which one does not expect in this book), or the story of a handsome, rich, and famous American man meeting a frail young French girl who needs protection.
There you go, I hope I wasn't too "blunt," it's just my opinion.
Valérie
