Intrusive dreams

Machine translation.

Hello,

I dream every night, and upon waking I am still caught up in my last dream (I have several dreams a night).

These dreams are always different, showing me known or unknown people in shifting places.

However, there are recurring themes, such as these dreams that keep coming back where I have to pack my things quickly to leave/move out (I am being evicted) and I am afraid of forgetting something.

I don't know if it's important, but my dreams are in color.

I have always been prone to dreams since I was little; however, I am beginning to worry about the daily frequency of these dreams (for the past week) and their grip on my mind upon waking… without being able to make sense of them. Could this be related to the move I just went through (15 days ago)?

I hope you can enlighten me on this subject

Thank you,

Hello Aurore,

It is normal to dream throughout the night, and it is also normal to remember the most recent dream, the one closer to waking up, more clearly.

Places with known or unknown people are the part of you that you know and that you do not know, or simply that you ignore and hide.

Yes, I understand that a move is never a happy experience to go through, with the habits and the fear of leaving the past behind, of things we don't want to forget.

I think you were a bit shaken up by the “misbehavior,” I’ll say, and then again, you don’t dream often; in principle, we dream throughout the night, with short and long dreams, featuring dreamlike images in color or in black and white.

I pulled this from a book, and here it is:
Do you dream in black and white or in color?
Specialists are still debating the difference… some believe that black-and-white dreams consist only of waking residues and do not offer much interpretive richness. Others assert that color dreams reflect a high level of unconscious activity. For my part, I consider all dream images, whether in black and white or in color, to be revelatory, and I do not dwell on debating this point.
Of course, when the dreamer mentions a specific color, it is relevant for interpretation. However, the symbolism of colors alone deserves an entire dictionary! Generally speaking, I think it is preferable to use that of our Western culture, as not all cultures assign the same meaning to the same colors.
Don't be afraid; dreams are not all nightmares. They make you aware of things from the past, the present, and the future.

Hello,

First of all: thank you for your very detailed response

You tell me that dreams are supposed to make me aware of things in the past, in the present, and in the future… However, I must not draw the conclusion that it is always the same type of situation that presents itself to me in my dreams. ???

That is to say, I have to leave and pack my things, I’m given very little time, and I’m afraid of forgetting something. I’ve been having this kind of dream for about ten years. It takes place in different locations, usually places where I’ve lived before. :-\

Does this dream reveal a fear of abandonment or something else? I am unable to grasp its meaning and make progress in a way that would stop my mind from sending me this alarm signal.

As long as I am dealing with a dream specialist, I would like you to also enlighten me on one point: as a child (from about 4 to 13 years old), I used to have frightening dreams involving extraterrestrials.

It’s silly to say, but I was terrified; it was the only thing that scared me. However, in my dreams, those beings never harmed me, yet I couldn’t shake that fear. Even today, I still think about it, and during the day I laugh about it. I mean during the day, because if I’m out at night, I think about it and I’m on guard, even though I know it’s stupid. Another detail: I can’t close my eyes when I’m in the shower, otherwise I feel a presence (non-human).

I know it sounds crazy. I’ve only mentioned it to a close friend once (he made fun of me) and to a therapist (who suggested hypnosis without really taking what I said seriously), but I haven’t gotten any answers to my questions.

I am reaching out to you to see if you could also shed some light on this matter.

Thank you in advance,

Hello Aurore,
I will elaborate on it as soon as I can afford to... and I also experience presence in the shower.
See you later

Hello again,

And what does the presence I feel under the shower, which prevents me from closing my eyes, mean?

I am curious; I would like to understand.

Thank you,

Aurore ***
