Fall

A planet is in its fall when it sits in the sign opposite the one of its exaltation, for example the Sun in Libra or Saturn in Aries. Tradition sees this as a weakened position, in which the planet struggles to express its qualities. As with detriment, contemporary astrology tempers this judgment and reads it in the context of the whole chart.
