Horoscope

A horoscope, in today's usage, is a general astrological forecast written for each sun sign, on a daily, weekly or yearly basis. The Greek word originally referred to the degree rising on the horizon at birth, that is, the Ascendant or rising sign, and later to the whole chart. Newspaper horoscopes, which address one twelfth of the population at a time, remain very general; astrologers themselves distinguish them from a personalized study of the natal chart. They are best read as an invitation to reflect.
