Oracle (card deck)

An oracle, in the cartomancy sense, is a divination deck whose number of cards, images and meanings are specific to its author, with no imposed structure like that of tarot. Each oracle comes with a booklet that sets the meaning of its cards and suggests spreads. Some are old and codified, like the Petit Lenormand or the Belline oracle; others, very numerous since the late 20th century, are themed and designed for intuitive reading. Their practitioners see them as a support for reflection rather than an instrument of certain prediction.
