Lenormand houses
Also Grand Tableau houses · house system
The Lenormand houses are the 36 positions of the Grand Tableau, each carrying the meaning of the card with the same number in the deck’s classic order. The first position is the house of the Rider, the twenty-fourth that of the Heart, and so on. A card falling in a house is therefore read twice: through its own meaning and through the theme of the position it occupies. This technique, popularized by certain modern authors, is not used by all practitioners and remains an optional way of reading.
