Astrological planets
Also planets · celestial bodies
In astrology, the word “planets” refers to the moving bodies taken into account in a chart: the Sun and the Moon, known as the luminaries; Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, known since antiquity; then Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, added after their discovery. This inherited usage does not follow astronomical classification. Each planet symbolizes a psychological function or principle, which its sign, house and aspects then shade.
