Dowser
Also water diviner · pendulum dowser · radiesthesist
A dowser is a practitioner who uses a pendulum or a rod to obtain, according to their practice, answers to questions or to locate an object, a water source or a person. In consultation, the pendulum is often used to decide between yes and no, or to choose among several options on a chart. Controlled tests have shown no effect beyond chance; the most widely accepted explanation is involuntary micro-movements of the hand. A dowser makes no medical diagnosis and prescribes no medical treatment.
