Reincarnation
Also transmigration · metempsychosis · rebirth
Reincarnation is the belief that the soul, or some principle of consciousness, is reborn in a new body after death. Found in Hinduism and Buddhism in different forms, it also existed in Greek thought under the name of metempsychosis, in Pythagoras and Plato. In the West, Spiritism and later the New Age movement spread it widely. In clairvoyance, it underpins readings about past lives and karmic bonds.
