Aeromancy

Aeromancy is divination by observing phenomena of the air: the shape and movement of clouds, the direction of the winds, halos, lightning or meteors. Nephelomancy is the branch devoted to clouds. In antiquity, signs in the sky were among the public omens, lightning above all, which Rome interpreted according to rules inherited from the Etruscans. It should not be confused with meteorology, which studies the same phenomena in order to forecast the weather.
