Square

The square is the aspect formed by two planets or points 90 degrees apart. It is traditionally considered an aspect of tension: the energies involved work against each other, creating friction or obstacles. Contemporary astrologers also see it as a driver of action and effort, with difficulty pushing toward growth. An opposition whose two ends are both square to the same point forms a T-square; two oppositions linked by four squares form a grand cross.
