Clarifier card

A clarifier card is a card drawn in addition to a reading to shed light on an ambiguous card or a position that is hard to interpret. It is usually placed next to the card it clarifies. Useful in moderation, it becomes counterproductive when cards keep being drawn until the hoped-for answer appears: the reading then slides from clarification into a search for confirmation. Many practitioners limit themselves to one or two per reading.
