Egregore

In occultism, an egregore is an entity or psychic force said to arise from the thoughts, emotions and intentions of a group sharing a common goal, and to act back upon its members. The word comes from the Greek egrēgoroi, the “Watchers” of the Book of Enoch; its esoteric meaning took shape in the nineteenth century. Today it is also used figuratively to describe the collective spirit of a group.
