Hot reading
Hot reading consists of gathering information about a person before the consultation, then presenting it as if it had been perceived through clairvoyance. The sources may be social media, a sign-up form, an earlier conversation or an accomplice. Unlike cold reading, it implies an intent to deceive. It accounts for some spectacular revelations and is a reminder that accurate information is no proof of a gift when it was available by other means.
