Metoposcopy

Metoposcopy is the divinatory art that claims to read a person’s character and destiny in the lines of their forehead. It developed during the Renaissance in connection with astrology, each line being associated with a planet; the Italian scholar Gerolamo Cardano devoted a treatise to it, published after his death in the 17th century. A branch of physiognomy, it is today more of a historical curiosity than a common practice. Forehead lines mainly reflect age, facial expression and sun exposure.
