In clairvoyance, the querent is the person who comes for a consultation, not the practitioner. They arrive with a question, often during a period of doubt or change. Sound ethics treat them as a free person responsible for their own choices: they are listened to, informed of the price and duration, never frightened, and the consultation is meant to help them decide rather than to make them dependent.
