Court cards in cartomancy
Also court cards · face cards · honors
The court cards in cartomancy are the kings, queens and jacks of the standard deck, which traditionally represent people around the querent. The king stands for a mature man or an authority, the queen for a woman, the jack for a young man, someone close or a message. Their suit indicates the nature of the relationship: kindly in hearts, social in diamonds, protective in clubs, more difficult in spades. According to tradition, an abundance of court cards in a reading points to a period rich in encounters and interactions.
