Kundalini

In tantric and yogic traditions, kundalini is a spiritual energy described as a coiled serpent lying dormant at the base of the spine. The Sanskrit word means “she who is coiled.” According to these teachings, breathing, posture and meditation practices are said to awaken it and draw it up through the chakras to the crown of the head. Traditional teachers recommend a guided, gradual practice.
