The Sun

The Sun is Major Arcanum XIX of the tarot, numbered XVIIII in the Tarot de Marseille. A radiant sun shines down on two children or twins standing in front of a low wall; the Rider-Waite-Smith shows a child on a white horse. Upright, it symbolizes success, clarity, joy, vitality, kinship and shared warmth. Reversed, tradition reads it as delayed success, pride or a light that dazzles more than it illuminates. It is considered one of the most favorable cards in the deck.
