Kabbalistic numerology

Kabbalistic numerology is an approach inspired by the Jewish mystical tradition, in which each letter of the Hebrew alphabet has a numerical value. In its original setting, it serves as a way of meditating on sacred texts and on correspondences between words. Modern popular versions sometimes transfer this principle to first names in the Latin alphabet, which many students of Kabbalah consider far removed from the tradition. Traditional study should therefore be distinguished from its divinatory adaptations.
