Presentiment
Also foreboding · hunch · gut feeling
A presentiment is a vague, inner feeling that something is going to happen, without being able to say exactly what or why. Less distinct than a premonition, it is more a matter of mood than of image. Everyone experiences it, and psychology often sees it as the effect of cues perceived unconsciously or of an underlying worry. In the clairvoyance tradition, it is considered a basic form of intuition, one that is wise to listen to without being ruled by it.
