Gaze direction
Also direction of gaze · where the figures look
Gaze direction is the way the figures depicted on the cards are facing, used as a key to reading a spread. In Tarot de Marseille reading, a figure turned toward the neighboring card is often read as a relationship, attention or influence, and a gaze turned to the left as an orientation toward the past. This cue gives structure to line spreads and to card combinations.
