Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot

Also Rider-Waite · Rider-Waite-Smith · RWS · Waite-Smith

The Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot is a tarot deck published in London in December 1909 by William Rider & Son, designed by the occultist Arthur Edward Waite and illustrated by Pamela Colman Smith. It was the first mass-market deck to illustrate every pip card of the Minor Arcana with a scene. It swaps the positions of Strength (VIII) and Justice (XI) and renames coins as pentacles. Today it is the dominant model throughout the English-speaking world.
