Sidereal zodiac

The sidereal zodiac is a zodiac aligned with the fixed stars, which takes the precession of the equinoxes into account. It is used mainly in Indian astrology and by some Western astrologers. The gap with the tropical zodiac, called the ayanamsa, now reaches about twenty-four degrees, its exact value depending on the convention used: most positions therefore fall in the preceding sign.
