Lunar cycles

The lunar cycle, or lunation, is the succession of the Moon’s phases, from new moon to full moon and back to new moon, in a little over twenty-nine and a half days. Many traditions associate it with a symbolic rhythm: growth and openness while the moon is waxing, taking stock and letting go while it is waning. Gardening, rituals and some clairvoyance practices still refer to it.
