Synchronicity
Also synchronicities · meaningful coincidence
Synchronicity is a coincidence between an inner state and an outer event, with no cause-and-effect link, yet experienced as charged with meaning. The concept was developed by the psychiatrist Carl Gustav Jung, who used it as early as 1930 and devoted an essay to it in 1952. In contemporary spirituality, people speak of synchronicities for mirror hours, timely encounters or repeated signs. Their interpretation remains personal.
