Yes/no spread
Also yes or no reading · yes/no tarot
The yes/no spread seeks a clear-cut answer to a closed question, based on one or a few cards classed as favorable, unfavorable or neutral. This classification varies from one reader to another and is in no way universal. Many tarot readers consider the format reductive, since it sets aside the nuances the cards bring; they use it as an indication of a trend, to be completed by a fuller reading. An answer obtained this way should never be enough on its own to ground an important decision.
